The goal of the Biotechnology Research and Biomedicine Center is to become a beacon for research in biotechnologies, a fast-growing sector. Once activities are in full swing, the new center will employ some 600 people and about just as many jobs will be created in the allied industries that the facility will help to develop. Only highly qualified personnel will work at the center: researchers in various fields, biologists, physicians, engineers, specialized technicians. In addition, the center will have a beneficial impact on sicilian economy as a whole.
